Special Warranty Deed 6121-18

Translation Exercise

Now that you have read the Deed and viewed the other documents pertaining to the parcel of land, look at each item listed below from the Cadastral Data Content Standard Entity-Relationship Diagram and find the information on the Special Warranty Deed that applies to each entity/attribute. You may need to refer to the Directory of Entities and Attributes to see definitions of each entity and its attributes.

You can also return to a view of the Special Warranty Deed. You may wish to print out a hard copy of the Deed, the E-R diagram, and the Directory of Entities and Attributes so you can easily see each at the same time.

Note that listed below are only the entities and attributes from the Cadastral Standard which have corresponding information in the Deed.

Also note that values for some attributes are not found on the Deed, but are assigned values by you, the user. Attributes given values by you include:

This means that the first time you come across Parcel ID information you assign the parcel an ID, such as 1. Likewise, the first time you come across Agent ID information you assign the agent an ID number of your choice. And so on with the other attributes noted above.

Here's how to do the exercise. (We'll give you the answer to the first entity, Legal Area Description, so you have an idea how to proceed with the rest.)

The answer to translating data from the Special Warranty Deed to the entity, Legal Area Description, is as follows:
  1. Legal Area Description ID is one of the attributes shown above which gets its value from you. So since this is the first Legal Area Description encountered, give the ID a value of 1.
  2. By reading Special Warranty Deed 6112-18, you find that the State is Zenon.
  3. By reading Special Warranty Deed 6112-18, you find that the County is Sedar.
  4. By reading Special Warranty Deed 6112-18, you find that the City/Village/Town is Zenopal.
You can tell this example is made up. While the Deed is realistic, it is not real.

To do this exercise, you will need to look back and forth between the E-R diagram, the Directory of Entities and Attributes, and the Special Warranty Deed. You may do this by linking back and forth between these pages, or by printing out a copy of each to have in front of you while you work.

Now continue with the exercise, finding values for the rest of the attributes listed below. You can link to the answers at the bottom of this page.
