The map below represents presentational use of cadastral related data. It is simply a Public Land Survey layer showing sections lines in Dubuque County, Iowa. The advantages of such as map include reduced duplication of data among users of similar data sets, and the ability for multiple users inside and outside an agency (in this case Iowa DNR) to work from a common framework. This map, and the others derived from it, are from the Iowa DNR GIS Library Catalog.
