Agency Data Examples: Forest Service, Portland

A Crosswalk of a Sample Portion of the Automated Lands Project (ALP) Entity-Relationship Diagram

with the Cadastral Data Content Standard

This example shows a small sample of information from the Forest Service's Automated Lands Project (ALP) crosswalked to the Cadastral Data Content Standard. By inspecting the tables below you can begin to visualize how your own data might crosswalk with the Standard.

Don't be too concerned with knowing something about ALP. Concentrate instead on the usefulness of the example.  Start thinking about your cadastral data in terms of entities and attributes which might correspond to entities and attributes in the Standard.

When it actually comes time to compare your data with entities and attributes of the Cadastral Data Content Standard, look back at this example as a guide for doing your own crosswalk.

Shown below is a table illustrating a crosswalk of selected attributes in the Forest Service Automated Lands Project (ALP) Entity Relationship Diagram with attributes in the Cadastral Data Content Standard.

The relationships between the attributes, as found in the Standard's logical model, will be discussed and illustrated in upcoming versions of these educational materials.)
