General Information
On-line Records Search
The Clark County Recorder's Office is responsible for recording documents, providing access to those documents, and collecting real property transfer tax (RPTT). Recorded documents are of three main types: official records which primarily pertain to real property rights; Uniform Commercial Codes (UCC) which pertain to personal property rights; and marriages. All records are microfilmed for permanent retention and are cross referenced by the names of the principal parties in an on-line automated index for easy access.
Typical documents recorded by the Office include real property records, financing documents, mechanical and Federal Tax liens, marriage certificates, military discharge papers, declarations of homestead, unpatented mining claims and maps. The microfilm record of these documents must be maintained permanently. Public access is provided for viewing the record, and copies of any records may be purchased.
Compared with Utah County
and Maricopa County, Clark County's use
of automation and the Internet may be regarded as typical of many counties
around the United States.
Clark County provides for searching recorded documents on-line. This capability is accompanied by documentation about searches, retrieval rules (abbreviations, codes) Name, and Book/Instrument Number.
