The Canyon Country Partnership (CCP) works to protect the integrity of the lands and resources of southeastern Utah while providing for sustainable use and viable communities.

One of CCP's goals is to share information.  A Geographic Data Committee works to: support data exchange between agencies, collect data, establish data standards, adopt metadata standards, facilitate data sharing, and establish attribute standards.

The CCP's web site identifies several cadastral data attributes as potential "share codes".   Share codes provide a convenient means for sharing data between agencies without major changes to database organization. This is accomplished by adding share codes as common fields (also known as link items or relate items) to your database, without otherwise changing your data structure.  When cooperating offices incorporate share codes into their databases, it becomes easier to exchange cadastral information --- the share codes acting as data bridges between agencies.

Crosswalking CCP Cadastral Share Codes With The Standard

The CCP notes an intention to compare cadastral share codes with the FGDC Cadastral Data Content Standard, and to make use of all FGDC standards where applicable.   The table below shows CCP cadastral share codes and their correspondence to entities and attributes in the FGDC Cadastral Data Content Standard.

Canyon Country Partnership Cadastral Share Codes Cadastral Data Content Standard Entity/Attribute
CONTROL - indicates whether survey point is calculated or a control point (found corner) no corresponding entity/attribute in the Standard
CORNER TYPE Corner Point/Monument Type  - or
Corner/Corner Classification (depends on intended domain of the CCP's CORNER TYPE share code)
PLSSID (concatenation of Quadrant, Township, Range, Section) no directly corresponding entity/attribute in the Standard, though attributes for Township, Range, and Section are provided in the Standard
RELIABILITY* (reliability of survey for a section) Corner Point Measured Coordinate/Reliability  - or
Corner Point Measured Coordinate/Accuracy Comments
SURVEY.COMPL (indicates whether or not the section has been surveyed) Public Land Survey System Township First Division /First Division Designator (possible free text entry to describe a surveyed or unsurveyed Section)
* Note: "Reliability" of a surveyed section does not have a direct correlation to an entity/attribute in the Standard.  However, the Standard does provide for reliability of individual coordinate values for corner points, which would be useful in noting the reliability of a surveyed section.
