recognizing that land record modernization and cadastral
data are critical for maintaining and managing livable communities and
the need for overall standardization and modernization of
land records, and sharing of cadastral information.
the need to reconcile variations in the way PLSS is represented
in content and spatial depictions.
using GCDB as the basis for PLSS in the west, which requires
completion and consistency, and continued collection, accuracy and content
enhancement and distribution.
the need for coordinated efforts between states, local governments,
tribal governments, and the private sector for development and implementation
of consistent cadastral procedures and standards.
partnership programs for cadastral data collection and maintenance,
and sharing of cadastral data for state and regional purposes; funding
and resources for collection and maintenance of cadastral data.
the need for cadastral information to be an integral part
of the multiple-theme digital mapping framework used to support response
to natural disasters (wildfire, earthquake, flood, etc.). informing and
educating policy makers about benefits and use of cadastral information.
